Description: He wears a tan vest with golden trim over his white shirt. His black leather gloves and pants are well-kept, and his tan boots flare out at the collars. He has a moderate pudge and is not very fit. He wears a top hat to cover his moderate length golden hair. His face is scarred and worn.

Personality: He is inclined to make off color jokes and interpret anything that could be construed as such as innuendo. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Varis is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Varis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Description: She is an exceptionally muscular looking southern young adult. She wears a robe, a symbol of the four houses of cards around her neck, and a ceremonial dagger on her belt. Beneath her clothing is a huge mess of scar tissue. Her white hair is wavy and long. She has brown eyes.

Personality: She is not truly malevolent, but she is obsessed with singing. She constantly tries to fill her life with singing. Morana is a bit of a follower. Usually she is manipulated by her brothers into helping them out, but recently she has become more of a free agent.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Dwarves in the south were limited. She has never given up on her singing dream.

Motivation: Regain custody of her son; and to reunite with her absent father

Description: An older man who wears a simple white robe with grey stripes complete with hood, he is not a threatening figure. He is bald on top and has large golden tufts of hair around his ears. His fierce gray eyes like to dwell on things.

Personality: He hates Halflings with a passion. As such he is filled with self loathing. He has zero loyalty and will suck up to whomever is within range, in the hopes of being moved to a better position.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Osco was born on a far northern mountains where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Healer. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: He is terrified, and will act out of fear.

Description: This woman is moderately tanned and has just the faintest trace of an accent. She wears a shirt and pants that are bristling with pockets overflowing with maps, compasses, and other navigational equipment. Her hair, while still mostly black, has prominent grey streaks. Her face is feral with sharp distinguishing features. Her spectacle hidden eyes are a deep gray.

Personality: She does not care much for physical appearances, nor does she care much for other people. She does however care about what she wants and getting it. Her philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: Shaena was born to in a poor docking district. She spent her early days working in the same smith shop her mother was employed at, doing general labor. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Halflings in the east were limited. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.

Motivation: Retire the richest woman in the east; and marry her sister to traveling adventurers
