History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her mother. Carlin was a troubled youth. She spent her days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent her evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Carlin decided she wanted neither the life of her mother nor that of the evil petty criminals she associated with. During her early adolescence, she took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. After months of barely getting by, Carlin managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, she made her way to the capital under a new identity.

Through the years after Meriele was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Meriele's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
