History: He comes from a rich western family. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Darrow alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

Motivation: Expand his business; and he has money and likes to spend it

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. A freak accident while working with his Barber father left him crippled. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. She inherited a moderately successful company from her father. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
