History: Born in the north to a Barber, Jezean learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. She leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever she goes.

Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Barber responsibilities is difficult.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Emerald grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Emerald. Recently she has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.
