History: He was raised by priests from a young age. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. While he appears to be a normal Halfling, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.

Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally.

History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Through the years after Therlin was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Therlin's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She has never given up on her poetry dream.
