History: Baern lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Personality: He takes his job very seriously, in part because he fears he cannot get a new one. He tends to be very friendly, and is drawn to music, the smells of food and wine, and out-door festivals.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. Like his father and his brother before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Courier. He's also a talented Scribe, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Courier responsibilities is difficult; and to be a scribe again

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. Balam was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the brigands.

Motivation: To reunite with his old friends; and he's looking for his big break
