History: Conrad lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Personality: Cocky and sure of herself, she believes she is the best Merchant born in the past three hundred years. She is terrible with names forgetting people's names several times before they finally stick; this causes her no end of embarrassment.

History: Euphemia was raised in a hard working conservative environment. She moved out north to avoid the crime she committed. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud; and a rival would like her out of the picture

Personality: She has two modes she varies between. On the job she is cold, steely and emotionless. Off the job she is a party animal. Animals are drawn to her, and she is able to talk to them.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Shoemaker work with an outfit from a few towns over. Shoemaker work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. Hubert liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
