History: When she was but 3 years old her parents immigrated from the east. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. She has never given up on her poetry dream.
