History: He was born into a rich family. Through the years after Roland was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Roland's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: He is a jovial happy person, but he is convinced people are living their lives too quickly. He is a ruthless business man, a trait he acquired from his father.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, River was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Some 7 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, River never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.
