History: Born in the south to a Scribe, Zûmug learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. Zûmug abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 12 years.

Motivation: Expand his business; and his spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion

Description: A stocky lighter skinned woman, she is wearing a tight red one piece outfit complete with pants, hood, and a cape. Her moppish white hair is in a traditional bowl cut. Her eyes are gray and catlike.

Personality: She is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before her hampering stammer kicks in. She does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. A gifted student she started as a Dyer, but she got bored and became a Brewer. She hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Brewer and was forced into it by her family; and expand her business

Description: A man with a cold, calculating air about him, he wears a custom-built plate barding that's adorned with pastel lining and desert motifs. His black fur is singed and shortened. He has a very pronounced jaw and large eyebrows. He wears rectangular glasses with silver brims.

Personality: He is quiet and unassuming. He ignores others and carries on with his job unassumingly. He has zero loyalty and will suck up to whomever is within range, in the hopes of being moved to a better position.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Emerald grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Emerald. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions.

Description: A woman of a pale complexion, she wears a black shirt with thin grey vertical stripes and green pants. With bright chestnut hair. She wears large thick round spectacles.

Personality: Gaaki wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Commoner, so she tries to act the part. She does a good job, for the most part... She passes on several rewards to people in need. She makes a point to leave places better than she found them.

History: Gaaki lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She helped her mother out around the business and became quite the natural. She has achieved small success as a Bookbinder.

Motivation: She doesn't get along with people that don't share her tastes; and to be a merchant again
