Personality: She is a Ruler first and foremost. She believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. She is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with her old comrades. She has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Therlin grew up listening to her mother's many stories. Therlin was born on a far eastern island where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Ruler. She got away from her former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. After a long history of fighting, Gerard and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Shoemaker responsibilities is difficult.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
