Personality: He is a Soapmaker first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. He is lazy, self-centered, vain, and jealous.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Soapmaker. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: She was born on a small isolated farm. Her childhood dream was to be a Bather, but she was a colossal failure. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

History: Born in the east her family was never financially stable. Her first spouse was a Mayor, they had one son, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

Motivation: Wants her loneliness to end; and find a way to reverse the transformation of her brother
