History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Umpen alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. At a young age her father died while driving off some illithids. Her mother being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train her in morningstar use. She was granted divine powers by her dying brother.

Motivation: She wants revenge against illithids.

Personality: She's a bit of a prankster. She knows she is clumsy and seen as such and will often feign amnesia after injury. She has a minor phobia of water and hates getting wet.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. She moved out south to avoid the crime she committed. Being a Sage kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: A rival would like her out of the picture; and she wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

She has dyed her greying blonde hair a little too much giving a sharp blonde color. Her face possesses mild wrinkles. Her smile is extraordinarily sincere though she does not smile often.

Personality: She hates Halflings with a passion. As such she is filled with self loathing. She seeks to pay back kindness whenever she gets the chance. Whether it be in the form of unwanted serenades or the latest gossip she always seeks to do solids for her friends.

History: Portia lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. As a young adult she joined a group advocating for an improvement in Halfling conditions. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Motivation: Her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion.
