Motivation: A rival would like her out of the picture; and she is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions

Duergath was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
