Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Glassblower they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Spice Merchant, and she later adopted a second son.

She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.
