The war was a terrible time for him, and Bertram does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, he has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. Animals are drawn to him, and he is able to talk to them.

History: Gifted from a young age, Pog studied abroad. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: She believes there is no problem she cannot solve with sufficient elbow grease and persistence, if it is the best or most economic solution matters not. She is obsessed with her god.

History: She was born in the north. Virra was born on a far northern island where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Weaver. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Sculptor they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Weaver, and she later adopted a second son.

Motivation: To reunite with her absent mother.

History: Born in the east to a Bricklayer, Varis learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Bricklayer.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it; and many giants want him driven away
