History: Diggory lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. Being a Herbalist kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Herbalist and was forced into it by his family.

History: Born in the east to a Ploughman, Cloud learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever.

History: She was raised in a plains tribe. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered dancing. She has never given up on her dancing dream.
