History: He was born into a rich family. A gifted student he started as a Merchant, but he got bored and became a Painter. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Painter for hire.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Painter responsibilities is difficult.

History: He was born in the north. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Navigator work with an outfit from a few towns over. Navigator work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Navigator for hire.

Motivation: Regain custody of his son; and marry his sister to traveling adventurers

History: John lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He worked as a nervous Dilettante and found it very stressful. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Revenge.
