History: Jo hails from a village terrorized by goblins. In her 17th year, while out on a day-trip, she returned to find her hometown burning and destroyed. Personality: She believes there is no problem she cannot solve with sufficient elbow grease and persistence, if it is the best or most economic solution matters not. She is cautious and jumpy. She reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. History: Lucan was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. Being a Spice Merchant kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: Alston hails from a village terrorized by brigands. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Alston alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Painter for hire.
