However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the brigands.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. Serpent was born on a far eastern island where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Dilettante. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Shepherd. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
