Personality: She has schizophrenia that causes her to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. She is very protective of her business, her home, and her spouse. She is willing to work with less than legal methods but maintains the front of legitimacy.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Marigold grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Marigold. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature axe.

Personality: He considers himself the perfect gentleman. He makes a point to always show proper etiquette and frequently critiques the etiquette of others. He is harsh and unforgiving.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Layabout arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Layabout. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Ostracized due to the arcane powers of her oldest sister, she and her siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Gnomes became a terror of the countryside. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and find a way to reverse the transformation of her sister

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
