History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He was granted arcane powers by his dying sister.

History: A powerful wizard made her what she is. Her father worked until she suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. She had to support her now crippled father and took her father's old job. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
