History: He was raised in a mountains tribe. He found a children's book about a Gnome Expert who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature monstrous two handed axe.

History: She was born in the west. As a very small child her family refused to pay dues to a local crime lord, who ordered them killed. Her mother, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect her and cast a teleportation spell that whisked her away. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: She is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions; and a rival would like her out of the picture
