His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. In her 18th year, her parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Makaria alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure her.
