When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Engraver hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Description: A well shaped man just over fifty, he wears a fine chain shirt which he covers with red colored cloaks and clothing. His auburn hair is drawn into a tight pony tail with a clover scrunchie. His thin eyebrows rest above his beady gray eyes.

Personality: He is a man who does what he needs to. He will acquiesce to black mail and extortion to avoid trouble. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his mother and father. His mother taught him the rudiments of the Seamstress arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. After months of barely getting by, Bertram managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, he made his way to the capital under a new identity.
