Description: This late middle aged woman wears a suit in poor condition. It has not been laundered in sometime and has been worn in activities one would not normally wear a suit during and is in decent physical shape. Her brown hair is singed and shortened. She is missing an eye and her face is severely sunburned. Her one remaining eye shines blue.

Personality: She has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor. She is not one for noise or eating so much, which is in direct contrast with her big mouthed big gutted partner. Her partner is her best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. She is accommodating to her spouse and as such limits her hospitality. She is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven herself a capable leader.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. Some 6 years later her spouse died after the birth of her daughter. Heartbroken, Joan never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her daughter whom she trained as her father had trained her before.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Ostracized due to the arcane powers of her oldest sister, she and her siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Gnomes became a terror of the countryside. She now spends her time doing works of charity.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and she is content

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered painting. She has never given up on her painting dream.

Motivation: She wants nothing more than to rejoin the army.
