His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Oren was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He now owns his own business.

His father taught him the rudiments of the Performer arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
