History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. She was an apprentice working in her father's forge. She has achieved small success as a Carter.

Motivation: She wants random interesting trinkets and junk, hates to throw anything away; and balancing her hectic life and new carter responsibilities is difficult

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His parents were killed by giants in a raid when he was still a young child. The giants captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
