History: The child of northern immigrants she idolized her father. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Balifra grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Balifra. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.

Through the years after Willow was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Willow's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She left for the east, certain she would find work there.
