History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Emerald grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Emerald. He bought a bow and has really upped his game hunting, due to his understanding of decoy and ambush.

Personality: She is soft-spoken, optimistic and speaks nonstop, as she rather likes the sound of her voice. Her demeanor is somewhat feminine. Shadow enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for her love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In her 10th year, her parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Shadow alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by giants. Shadow was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the giants.
