Personality: She is a jovial happy person, but she is convinced people are living their lives too quickly. Cumpen enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for her love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.

History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his father. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Gnomes in the west were limited. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found; and regain custody of his son

She does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for her. She lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: Ilanis lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Motivation: She is content; and doesn't want to be a slave trader and was forced into it by her family
