History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Through the years after Herleva was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Herleva's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
