History: Trained by her father for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. In her 13th year, her parents were killed by a goblins raid, leaving River alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many goblins want her driven away; and several ex partners dislike her way of doing things and want revenge

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Tharivol grew up listening to his mother's many stories. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.
