History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Verna has worked very hard to control her curse. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: Hlin speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. She is clearly well-traveled and educated. She claims to be unscrupulous but at the end of the day she will do what she thinks is right.

History: She comes from a rich southern family. Through the years after Hlin was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Hlin's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. When she grew older, she became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns.
