Through the years after Aldous was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. She inherited a moderately successful company from her mother. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Cartwright. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
