History: He was born on a small isolated farm. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Some 7 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Melech never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

Through the years after Dorn was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Dorn's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Motivation: Many illithids want her driven away; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and she desires to right it
