History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Heather was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Heather was born on a far southern island where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Armorer. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She has never given up on her writing dream.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Being born in the west, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.
