However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

His father, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect him and cast a teleportation spell that whisked him away. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 9 years.
