History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His parents were killed by brigands in a raid when he was still a young child. The brigands captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Oppah has worked very hard to control her curse. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion

History: She is a Deep Scion in disguise. She always admired psionic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Ploughman for hire.
