History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town.
