When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Fighter in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She tends to her Painter job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. After months of barely getting by, Gennal managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, he made his way to the capital under a new identity.
