During her travels, Marastyr and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Marastyr discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Marastyr fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation.

History: When he was but 3 years old his parents immigrated from the west. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Spice Merchant hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
