History: He was born in the east, but his parents moved at a very young age to the west. His parents were killed by giants in a raid when he was still a young child. The giants captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a son. Some 8 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son.
