History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. In her 16th year, her parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Birel alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: He is a Ruler first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. He loves his children and doesn't want them to worry about him. He loves to share his writing with anyone who is interested.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Brewer they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Ruler, and he later adopted a second son.

Personality: She has a good heart but also a terrible temper. She will forgive often but not before yelling and berating someone for whatever they have done wrong. Gale is a bit of a follower. Usually she is manipulated by her brothers into helping them out, but recently she has become more of a free agent.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. Her childhood dream was to be a Navigator, but she was a colossal failure. She became a Performer soon after.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Performer and was forced into it by her family.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Half-Elves in the north were limited. Some 7 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Gerald never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.
