History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, River was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He's also a talented Map Maker, but doesn't like to broadcast it.
