History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Radomir was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

History: Gifted from a young age, Rimmon studied abroad. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: Her tongue was cut out and she uses sign language. She also has developed a complete distrust of the Guard profession.

History: Ranala was born with her mother's beautiful face. A gifted student she started as a Guard, but she got bored and became a Courier. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Guard. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Courier and was forced into it by her family; and find a way to reverse the transformation of her sister
