History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Map Maker hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. After a long history of fighting, Alain and her spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: Cocky and sure of herself, she believes she is the best Gardener born in the past three hundred years. She is submissive, is generally bored by everything, but will take part in whatever people ask of her. She is by nature obliging.

History: Merla was raised in a hard working conservative environment. A freak accident while working with her Dilettante father left her crippled. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Dilettante. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Personality: She is happy with her job as a Stableman. She turns her eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. Further she is a bit of a stoner and is frequently out of it.

History: Born in the north to a Stableman, Ella learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. Ella liked to wander the woods near her home when she was young, something she still likes to do at least once a week. She never liked modest clothing or shoes, so she would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and she developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her brother; and wants to raise her children well

Personality: He is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before his hampering stammer kicks in. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Painter for hire.

Motivation: To settle down with his crush; and he is greedy
