Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Cook born in the past three hundred years. He constantly seizes attention wherever he goes and has come to expect this respect from everyone. He likes to think of himself as merciful, but nonetheless is very strict.

History: Cairn was born in the south. At a young age he loved to build and create. He worked as a nervous Cook and found it very stressful. He's also a talented Spy, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Bryseis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Over the years she perfected her riding and shooting skills. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. By chance he met his brother recently and the two have been together since.
