However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

In her 13th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Morana alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
