History: Ranala was born with her father's beautiful face. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Ulfgar lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He has had some formal painting training, and achieved minor success. By chance he met his brother recently and the two have been together since.
